Caine’s Pecking Order

Erik Hayden, writer for Time magazine, recently reminded us how much we miss Herman Cain.

It probably isn’t accurate to say that Herman Cain’s web advertisements have gotten “increasingly” bizarre. Pretty much all of his new ads have been like that recently, to the point where the argument he’s making about bloated government seems to get obscured by a horror-movie aesthetic.

So, in the same vein as the “dying goldfish” (above) or “rabbit getting catapulted” (see after the break) shock ads, Cain’s team released a new video showing a farmer feeding his chickens some seed, only to be eaten alive by the fowl. The farmer is the taxpayer and the chickens are the “big government” who attacks him until nothing is left of the poor guy (a skeleton hand is seen at the end of the ad). Watch out for the government: it may just peck you to death, etc. (You Tube has pulled the ad..so watch it here on the Time website.)

The worst political ad ever coming up

Manufactured News

I can’t be the only one who is tired of manufactured news. You know, the kind that’s not really news but gets picked up by every media outlet in the country and driven into the ground.

While the Trayvon Martin ordeal is tragic, is it really deserving of non stop discussion and coverage by every news program from the mediocre Neal Bootrz radio show to the more mainstream network nightly news programs? It’s not like they really have any new news on it every time they flash “breaking news” on TV and tell us someone is marching in Florida.

And really should they be reporting on it and allowing callers to judge and jury it on the air?

Moving on…the Etch-A-Sketch “controversy”.

Really? news programs ran with it like it was policy of some kind.

Example:

Every candidate takes a breath and regroups after winning the primary. For Romney’s opponents to jump on this like they did is well – childish.

Now we have more manufactured news.

Agree?

Texting with Hillary

This website cracks me up! For now it’s my favorite waste of time each day.

It all began when the photo of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was taken (the one on the bottom above) as she checked her PDA upon her departure in a military C-17 plane from Malta bound for Tripoli, Libya.

Then someone got the very bright idea to see who and what she might be texting on her Smartphone. The results are Hill-arious!

Live Long And Prosper = Great Political Slogan

Perhaps “Live Long and Prosper” could be President Obama’s re-election slogan. Trekkies are very loyal and do whatever they can to convince others how perfect the Star Trek world is…just sayin’.

President Obama, who has often been compared to the overly-analytical Mr. Spock, flashes a Vulcan salute with Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura on the original Star Trek TV show.

Nichols was an early black television pioneer, cast as the communications officer on the Starship Enterprise. She and William Shatner participated in the first scripted inter-racial kiss on American television. According to her Twitter feed, Nichols met Obama in February.

Sleeping With The Enemy

So Sarah Palin heads ot 30 Rock (her bad joke about the irony of that is in the video below) to co-host the Today Show. You know one of those “lamestream” media programs that she detests?

While I hate giving her any space here on my blog, I do enjoy a good Jon Stewart slap down.

Your Password and Employer

PC Magazine reports House Republicans on Wednesday defeated an amendment that would have banned current or prospective employers from requiring workers to hand over personal passwords as a condition of keeping or getting a new job.

“What this amendment does is it says that you cannot demand, as a condition of employment, that somebody reveal a confidential password to their Facebook, to their Flickr, to their Twitter, whatever their account may be,” Rep. Ed Perlmutter, the Colorado Democrat who authored the amendment, said during a Wednesday floor speech.

The amendment, however, which was added to a larger FCC reform package, was defeated this afternoon by a vote of 236 to 185. It was largely split down party lines, with 183 Democrats voting in favor of the amendment and 234 Republicans voting against it.

How Can It Effect You?

Fonda Plays Reagan

Here’s a shocking casting decision: Longtime liberal activist Jane Fonda is set to play the revered republican Nancy Reagan in the movie “The Butler.” The Wrap has confirmed that the 74-year-old has signed on for the part.

Think it’ll work?

A Sign for the President

Lots of people get giddy following even the briefest encounters with a president. But one Washington-area college student was especially elated that President Obama understood what he was saying. Or signing.

Stephon, a student at Prince George Community College, was standing in line after an event on energy policy with President Obama and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, waiting for a chance to shake hands with the president. As the president was shaking hands and making his way through the crowd, he met up with Stephon, who was born deaf.

“I am proud of you,” Stephon signed to the president.

Not missing a beat, President Obama signed back: “Thank you.”

New Medicare Program

While I do not condone violence…I do condone laughter.

You’re a sick senior citizen and the government says there is no nursing home available for you. So what do you do?

Our plan gives anyone 65 years or older a gun and 4 bullets. You are allowed to shoot four politicians of your choice.

Of course, this means you will be sent to prison where you will get three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating, air conditioning and all the health care you need!

Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That’s great. Need a new hip, knees, kidney, lungs or heart? They’re all covered.

As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you as often as they do now.

And who will be paying for all of this? It’s the same government that just told you that you they cannot afford for you to go into a home.

Plus, and because you’re a prisoner, you don’t have to pay any income taxes anymore.

Is this a great country or what?

She’s A Slut!

Need a musical reposnse to Rush Limbaugh calling a female Georgetown law student a SLUT? Here is it!

The singing is fabulous…the tune is hilarious and the bad day Rush had is now over a week long. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person.

Now for all you elitist, snobbish sluts I present “I’m A Slut” by The Reformed Whores. Apparently the word doesn’t mean what we thought it did…
